EURO 2008 Soccer and Standards silent companions through 30. May 2008

True soccer fans are counting the days and hours until the kick-off of the European Championship 2008. When, starting on 7 June, soccer will reign supreme and the most important frivolity in life will be at the core of public interest, numerous standards - unbeknownst to most citizens - are to ensure that everything will go smoothly and safely.

 

For example: Internationally and nationally standardized symbols are used to provide orientation. Excellent vision for the fans at the stadium is ensured by European Standards (sports lighting/spectator facilities). Furthermore a standard which not only defines the precise dimensions of the goal but also safeguards its stability.
