Verbund welcomes “Green Energy” in Greece

Verbund, one of the major energy providers in Europe, presented the new services provided in the Greek market in a special event held at Aigli in Zappio in Athens.
The company’s representatives referred to the new perspectives and dynamics of the Greek energy market and the new conditions as being formed after the deregulation of the market, while they also underlined the “Green Energy” that the company supports.
Verbund was founded in Greece in May 2006 and is the result of the joint venture created between VERBUND - Austrian Power Trading AG (55% of shares) and ENERGA S.A. (45% of shares). It is one of the largest electricity trading companies in the Greek market and is the first private-sector company, which supplies electricity to low- voltage customers. It is worth noting that by 2006 Verbund owns a 20-year license from the Ministry of Economy, Competition and Maritime (former Development) to provide electricity of 300MW.
As highlighted during the event by the CEOs of Verbund in Greece, Mr. Aristides Floros and Mr. Thomas Baechle: “Verbund is entering a new dynamic phase in the Greek energy market offering new, pioneering products and services not only to business but also to residential customers. We are certain that both business and residential customers will respond positively to the new possibilities offered”.
Let’s welcome Verbund that brings “Green Energy” in Greece showing by action its interest and environmental consciousness!
