Market Leader in Indonesia

Andritz Hydro has been active in Indonesia since the early eighties. Today it is the leading company in Indonesia’s hydro power industry. The office in Jakarta acts as regional headquarters and is also responsible for developing and implementing projects in all other ASEANcountries, Australia, and New Zealand.

With an installed capacity of approximately 2,600 MW in large, small, and mini hydro power plants, more than 60% of all installed hydropower turbines are products of Andritz Hydro or its predecessors, VA TECH Hydro or Elin.

Indonesia’s largest operating hydroelectric power plants Cirata I & II, with a combined output of 1,000 MW, were also constructed by Andritz Hydro in 1984 and 1994.

As renewable — and especially hydropower — energy projects are gaining momentum in the Indonesian energy sector and the energy matrix is in the process of diversification, new business opportunities will come about not only in the most populated and industrial island of Java but also in large and energy-intensive mining projects in remote regions such as Papua, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Andritz Hydro is well-prepared to play a major role in Indonesia’s energy industry by providing world-class sustainable hydropower solutions from Austria.
