Austria wins "Best Ski Destination" 23. January 2008

Skiing in Austria

The Irish Travel Trade News named Austria the "2007 Best Ski Destination" at its annual travel awards held on 23rd January in Dublin.

 

Austria remains the Irish' favourite winter sports destination. Austrian lift companies invested a staggering € 520 million alone last year in lift systems, snow making equipment and sustainable "green" initiatives. Operators have further increased local departures and the choice of resorts offered, which helped to generate a record 40,000 Irish winter sport enthusiasts making the trip to Austrian slopes.
