31 March 2011

From 18 August to 3 September 2011 around 4,000 people from over 60 countries will come to the village of Alpbach in the Tyrolean Alps to discuss hot topics in politics, economics, science and the arts. The attendees will include students and recent graduates. Once again this year the Forum will issue up to 500 scholarships to enable young people to take part.

Efforts to see justice not only as a necessity but rather as an ethical imperative are at the heart of the European Forum Alpbach 2011 "Justice - Responsibility for the Future". The combination of scientific seminars with discussions and short events on selected key topics is what makes the European Forum Alpbach so unique and exciting.

Speakers and participants from all parts of the world, experienced experts and students, will come together in Alpbach to discuss the current issues and to formulate interdisciplinary solutions. The open character of the events promotes a climate of tolerance for different opinions and contributes to the overcoming of national, ideological and disciplinary boundaries in a harmonius way.

The aim of the Forum is to give as many young people as possible the opportunity to take part in the conference. The European Forum Alpbach Non-Profit Foundation under Private Law makes scholarships available to students and recent graduates of any discipline under the age of 31.
