15th INTERNATIONAL PASSIVE HOUSE CONFERENCE, INNSBRUCK, AUSTRIA 25-29 MAY 2100

Advantage Austria/The Austrian Embassy Commercial Section, SEAI's Renewable Information Office (REIO) and The Passive House Association of Ireland (PHAI) will be hosting an official Irish delegation to the 15th International Passive House Conference in Innsbruck, Austria on 25th-29th May 2011.

This unique study tour combine’s site visits to a number of passive house projects (the Tyrol is home to many outstanding residential and non residential projects) with two-day conference including specialist symposia delivered by leading experts of the passive house movement across Europe.

With over 80 presentations the theme for this year’s conference focuses on research and passive house development, regional passive house developments, non-residential passive house buildings, passive house refurbishments and components with the breakdown as follows:

The conference is supported by a comprehensive technology exhibition (free to the Irish delegation) where over 150 leading product and service suppliers will be showcasing the very latest in technology innovation and intelligent energy efficient solutions for old and new buildings. So whether it’s insulation, building materials, doors, windows or ventilation systems with heat recovery you will find the very best information, advice, materials, components, illustrative models and experts happy to answer your questions.

The group will also have the opportunity for one to one business meetings with some of Austria’s leading manufacturers of passive and low energy products and service providers.

There is also a social aspect to the study tour the party will attend the conference dinner at the historical Salzlager Hall followed by a visit to the Hasegg Castle Minting Tower and a networking event hosted by the Advantage Austria/Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Tyrolean Chamber of Commerce.

Wednesday 25th May 2011

With onward coach transfer to Innsbruck provided

Thursday 26th May 2011
Full day of site visits to residential and non residential passive house projects hosted by Advantage Austria.
Concluding with a 'speed' networking and social event with traditional Austrian food, wine and beers.

Friday 27th May – Saturday 28th May 2011
The party will participate in the two day conference and exhibition and attend the conference dinner (informal) Friday evening at the historical Salzlager Hall followed by a visit to the Hasegg Castle Minting Tower

Sunday 29th May 2011
Check out of hotel.
Midday coach transfer to Memmingen airport
Ryanair Flight FR2413 depart Memmingen 16.45 arrive Dublin 18.00.

There is the option to enjoy a day of site visits organised by the Passivhaus Institute. This would be subject to an additional cost and MUST be booked direct with the conference organisers.
Please note: If you opt for the Sunday excursions it will be your responsibility to arrange transfers etc.

Accommodation has been pre-booked (single rooms on a bed and breakfast basis) at two hotels both located within a 10 minute walk of the Innsbruck Congress Centre. Details as follows:

Please Note:
The costs for the first two nights’ accommodation will be covered by the Austrian export promotion scheme “go international”.

COST
€430 for PHAI members
€490 for non-PHAI members

This includes two-day conference and exhibition registration (proceedings, lunch etc.), conference dinner (Friday evening), coach transfers, Thursday site visits and networking events as stated above.

Please note: Participants will have to cover the additional two night’s accommodation at their selected hotel, flights and transfers outside of the stated itinerary.
