Brisk business at the Austrian Pavilion at the Energy Show

1 April 2012

With Austria leading the way in renewable energy, the Austrian Pavilion at the Energy Show saw visits by several high-profile players in the energy sector. Early on day 1, Minister for Energy Pat Rabitte stopped by and praised his recently acquired acquisition of a heat pump to warm his home. TV Producer and Presenter, Duncan Stewart, an old friend of Advantage Austria, visited to chat with exhibitors on day 2.

Once again this year, Advantage Austria spearheaded a sizeable delegation to the Energy Show at the RDS in Dublin (28-29 March 2012). With one of the largest stands at the show, Advantage Austria hosted eight Austrian companies from the biomass, solar thermal and geothermal sectors.

Despite the current downtown, visitor flow was steady and several of the exhibitors sold products during the exhibition. Martin Seifried of KWB reported successful sales of biomass boilers to primary schools in rural communities. Owen Power of EnerPower, distributor for Gilles, has recently discovered a new market niche – supplying wood pellet boilers to the burgeoning market gardening sector that is feeding a growing market of environmentally aware “foodies” and health conscious consumers. Gerry Duffy, CEO of Ochnser Ireland, who co-developed an air-to-water heatpump especially for the mild, damp Irish climate, reported a strong upsurge in sales after a previous Advantage Austria event in the Dublin Conference Centre.
