Trade mission from Austria to web summit

From 28-31 October 2013, 23 CEOs and CTOs from Austrian startups were in Dublin on a trade mission to the Web Summit. The trade mission included visits to the European headquarters of Google and Facebook and a workshop entitled PITCH PERFECT with experienced entrepreneur and trainer Paul O'Dea of Select Strategies. This was the largest trade mission ever organised by Advantage Austria.

With the aim of pitching their business idea to investors and corporates at the Web Summit, 23 entrepreneurs arrived in  Dublin at the end of October. The package was rounded off by visits to two of the hottest names in online services - Google and Facebook. To gear up for the Summit, Paul O'Dea from Select Strategies took the Austrians though their paces by training the elevator pitch in Englisch in a half-day workshop.

10,000 people from around the world attended the summit. Over 1,000 starups and early-stage companies had the use of a booth on one of the two day. Hundreds of top-tier VCs and corporate investors attended, all in the seach of the next big thing.

The startups were Anvartec, Symptoma, CBased, Deepinterface, Seekda, Roomle, Smarter Ecommerce,Roofnode,Christian Pfandler,Usersnap and Runtastic, who recently hit the headlines with a large investment from Axel Springer Verlag - the biggest publishing company in the German-speaking world.The group was joined by Austrian investment company tecnet equity.
