MONTESSORI TEACHER WINS PRIZE TRIP TO WORLD'S BEST CITY - VIENNA

19 February 2014

The prize was attractive: a weekend in the city with the best quality of life in the world - Vienna.  Today, Montessori teacher Catherine O'Riordan is the lucky winner of a weekend in Vienna with two nights' acommodation at the four star Hotel Erzherzog Rainer.

An outing to the Holiday World Show in the RDS on the 27th January led to an unexpected outcome. Along with 500 other travel enthusiasts, Catherine entered the draw at the Austrian Pavilion. "I never expected to win the competition but I'm delighted my name was pulled out of the hat", said Catherine on her visit to the offices of Advantage Austria in Dublin. Commercial Cousellor Wilhelm Nest presented the prize of two flights to Vienna with Aer Lingus and two nights' accommodation in the four star Hotel Erzherzog Rainer. Co-sponsors of the trip were Advantage Austria and Hotel Erzherzog Rainer.

Soon Catherine will experience Vienna for the first time. The New York based consultancy, Mercer, has just published its "Quality of Living Ranking 2013" for international cities. For the fourth year in a row Vienna takes first place. The main criteria were cultural amenities, a well developed health system, the abundance of recreational areas and low crime rates.
