Advantage Austria takes a new crop of startups to Web Summit 2015

After two highly successful missions to the Web Summit in 2013 and 2014, Advantage Austria is once again taking a number of Austrian start-up companies to this year’s Web Summit. In preparation for the event on 3-5 November, the companies will attend a one-day pitching training on 2 November with entrepreneur and trainer Paul O’Dea (CEO of Select Strategies), pitch in front of investors, as well as visit the Google and Facebook offices.

The companies attending are:

 

Bene-Eat 

Kiweno is developing customised hardware and innovative medical software to help people understand their nutritional health with simple and convenient home-to-laboratory blood tests with online data visualisation.

They have two and a half years’ experience in R&D of home-to-laboratory self-testting and many years’  experience in diagnosis and treatment of nutrition-related health problems (e.g. food intolerances). With experience from over 30,000 patient data records and support from international business and medical advisors Kiweno aims to disrupt the preventative healthcare sector.

 

Bitsfabrik

Kangaroute is a user interface for independent travellers. It’s a leisure & travel platform acting as lean-back recommendation tool with all info in one UX, to help you get the best out of your trip and spare time.

You start with one activity and link others. You can then book a hotel central to your activities and get a route planner. The interactivity as well as quality of data sets it apart from other approaches.

Kangaroute’s first target country is Austria with 60M overnights per year. They are already successful in Austria and are scalable for all markets.

 

CookWanted

FoodNotify.com are creating an online platform targeting restaurant owners and corporates who sell loose food. It will help its users comply with the new European allergen labelling law with databases offering nearly all ingredients already labelled.

In Austria and Germany FoodNotify.com’s database is directly connected to the producers in the food industry and they offer more than 250,000 products/items (the number is growing). This is unique in those markets. FoodNotify is the first company in Europe to collect and aggregate food data from different sources.

 

Courseticket

Courseticket is offering marketplace-as-a-service technology to efficiently integrate multi-seller/department solutions which automate all relevant marketplace processes for sellers and operators by providing mobile ticketing, booking-/payment-/billing-/attendee-management, controlling and accountancy.

Their solutions are flexible (e.g. event-/congress-management, course-/seminar-management, in-house academies, individual open marketplace concepts, etc.) and 100% scalable through an innovative cloud-based IT infrastructure.

 

Crowd-o-moto

Crowd-to-moto is a demand-driven online sales platform for car buyers, who are dissatisfied with the current sales process. Their product provides an easier way of buying the new dream car. Unlike the current painstaking and time-consuming way of buying a new car, the platform provides a quick market overview and fair prices, which is only attainable with the power of the crowd.

 

Indoo.rs

Indoo.rs is developing indoor localisation and navigation to help visitors of big and confusing buildings (also visually impaired people) to solve problems with finding their way around unknown indoor venues with the indoo.rs technology (SDK), integrated into apps.

They offer the whole solution (navigation, routing, geo-fencing, analytics, seamless transition to outdoors and between different levels, etc.), developer support, and easy handling. One well known customer is San Francisco International Airport.

 

Orat.io Broadcasts

With years of knowledge in virtual devices and scaling network processes, orat.io Broadcasts wish to unite mobile communication through messengers at a central platform to help online publishers solve the problem of delivering content to their mobile audience.

The Orat.io team has extensive experience in online media and digital publishing through previous projects with Axel Springer in Berlin and the Styria Media Group in Austria.

 

Robo Technologies

Robo Technologies is working on programmable robotic toys that teach kids robotics and coding in a fun and engaging way.

Their user interface is intuitive and kids as young as 5 years old can learn coding.

 

Venuzle.com

Venuzle is developing a sports platform to help sports people search for and book sports providers (venues, courses, trainers) online, find new teammates and join or manage sports teams with an all-in-one management solution for sports providers.

This is a one-stop service for both sports people and sports providers.

 

ViprTec

ViprTec (Video Production Technology) offers a turnkey solution to systematically create sport video highlights (e.g. goals). With ViprTec, media sites and sport clubs can easily create and market highly emotional video content. Production and distribution of videos only takes one click, and sport highlights (goals, misses) are available almost as they happen.

Creating, cutting, categorising has never been easier. One simple click and sport highlights are immediately available on smartphones of sport fans or on media sites.

 

VisoCon

Eyeson is an app for videoconferencing and webinars to make communication easier with seamless integration. Eyeson ensures better quality with less data volume and individual customisation. It is unique because it uses single stream technology. There is no need to download or install anything, it can be integrated seamlessly into other products, workflows and social networks. Eyeson is used by Xing.

Zebra New Media

FRUX is a predictive lead generation platform for b2b companies to help them acquire new customers by showing potential customers just-in-time and at their key decision points.

FRUX focuses on supporting sales people. For this reason they are developing a unique technology which collects additional sales information around the future customer, such as hobbies, current suppliers, customers, partners, employment history, etc.
