AUSTRIAN HEAT-EXCHANGERS in DWTE (Dublin Waste To Energy)

29 November 2016

Austrian technology is an integral part of the new Poolbeg waste incinerator

Perhaps Europe's most beautifully situated waste incinerator plant is in East Dublin and is in process of being completed after a decade of protests by residents. It is planned to come into operation in March 2017. The plant is being built and will also be operated by Covanta Energy, a US company.

Once completed, 600,000 tonnes of waste (ie 150 truckloads per day) are to be incinerated at 950 ° C in continuous (7/24) operation. As a by-product, electricity with a capacity of 60 MW will be fed into the grid and can also supply district heating for 55,000 people. This is made possible not least by the 26 Austrian heat exchangers supplied by ENCO Energie Componenten GmbH from Pinsdorf (Upper Austria).

The Austrian commercial counsellor, Wilhelm Nest, took part in a guided tour of the new waste incineration plant today and tomorrow he will also attend the Irish Waste Management Conference (30 Nov 2016).
