Ochsner/Eurotech Heat Pumps - Advantage Austria Team Building

Eurotech Renewables demonstrate OCHSNER heat pumps in operation at three sites in County Monaghan

On 15 August, the Advantage Austria Ireland Team ventured to the rolling hills of County Monaghan on a fact-finding mission to experience innovative Austrian heat pump technology in operation.  Gerard Duffy, MD of Eurotech Renewables Ltd/OCHSNER Ireland organised three interesting site visits demonstrating OCHSNER heat pumps in action.

The Fort View Estate in Lisdoonan Village comprising of 14 dwellings really is a model for community housing.  Primarily aimed at older people, the heating cost for a house for 24 hours is €1 in winter time. Eurotech designed an award winning hybrid system, the first of its kind in the country and perfectly suited to the Irish climate. The system takes heat from the ground and energy from humidity in the atmosphere to provide heating and hot water.

Cuan Mhuire in Ballybay, one of five such centres on the island, is Ireland’s largest provider of residential detox and treatment programmes for addiction sufferers. Being a charity organisation, Cuan Mhuire heavily relies on donations and keeps its energy cost to a minimum thanks to a highly efficient OCHSNER heat pump, installed and maintained by Eurotech.

Elim Pentecostal Church  in Monaghan is an example of a new build centred on energy efficiency based on OCHSNER heat pumps and combined with innovative ventilation solutions by Eurotech.

All in all, an eye opening excursion putting evidence to the fact that the task of reducing carbon footprint is not necessarily rocket science but rather a combination of state of the art technology applied by passionate energy experts.
