BDI Biodiesel to fuel Ireland’s Public Transport Buses

The Graz based company, BDI Biodiesel International, has recently been awarded a contract for the construction of a biodiesel plant in New Ross, Co. Wexford, for Green Biofuels Ireland Ltd. The EUR 21m refinery has a capacity of 34m litres biodiesel, or 30,000 tonnes per annum, and is expected to start production in 2008. The approved “multi feedstock” procedure will be used, which allows for the processing of oilseeds, waste cooking oil and animal fats and will comply with the highest international quality standards. BDI won the contract as it was able to refer to their long-term successful project in Graz, where for years buses have been using biodiesel, which has been produced by the company’s approved methods.
