The official signing of the contract for the first sewer rehabilitation project in Kolkata between the Kolkata Municipal Corporation and the Management of the Austrian company, Angerlehner Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH took place on 17.1.2008 in the presence of the Austrian Trade Commissioner, Mr. Hans-Joerg Hoertnagl. The project envisages the rehabilitation of several kilometers of over 100 year old main sewer lines in Kolkata in the next two years. With a total value of EUR 20 million, it constitutes one of the largest single orders in the history of the company.
This world-renowned Austrian company with international references and specializing in the rehabilitation of sewer lines, was awarded the contract in the face of strong international competition, thereby highlighting the special position held by this company in this field.
On 30.1.2008 the contract for another such project in Delhi will be signed. The value of this order amounts to around EUR 11 million and, together with a project currently being executed by Angerlehner Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH in Delhi, will take the total volume of their projects in India to EUR 40 million. In view of the projects already completed in Mumbai between 2001 and 2004, the Austrian company can now rightly be described as an “India specialist.”
With these orders, the company expects a growth in its turnover to around EUR 50 million in 2009 contrary to the rather muted predictions for the international markets.
