Sri Lanka shows an increasing demand for industry products of all kinds. Additionally, the island is currently developing as a strategic hub on the international shipping route between West – and Southwest Asia as well as on the transcontinental route and a significant rise in freight volumes exchanged between the company branches in Western Europe and Sri Lanka is to be expected.

At present, the seaport of Colombo ranks number 26 among the world’s most important with an overall cargo throughput of 3.46 Mio TEU in 2009. Located 35 km from Colombo the Bandaranaike airport currently handles most of the inbound and outbound flights. Soon, it will be supported by another airport, the Hambantota International.

“Due to a longstanding personal friendship with our new business manager in Colombo we were given a chance to add this young but promising market to our network and provide all imaginable logistics services to our customers there”, says cargo-partner’s CEO Stefan Krauter. The cargo-partner office in Colombo starts out with a team of six employees.
