'Going to India'

 A series of seminars organised by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, aimed at attracting Austrian companies to invest in India . 
 

Three seminars, “Going to India” were organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in Vienna, Linz and Salzburg on 25th, 26th and 27th June, 2007 respectively, to motivate Austrian companies to invest in business ventures in India.

There was an impressive turnout of around 70 Austrian companies already doing business with India as well as about 50 Austrian companies seeking to make initial business contacts with India.

In Vienna the event was inaugurated by Dr. Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, in Linz by Dr. Rudolf Trauner, President of the Economic Chamber of Upper Austria and in Salzburg by Mr. Julius Schmalz, President of the Economic Chamber of Salzburg.

In each city an opening speech was given by the Indian Ambassador to Austria, H.E. Sheel Kant Sharma, followed by a talk on the current economic trends and opportunities in India, Austro-Indian relations and cultural aspects in doing business with India by the Austrian Commercial Counsellor in New Delhi.

In-depth individual presentations were made by both Indian and Austrian experts from the legal and commercial world on the legal and tax aspects for investments in India, financing activities in India as well as on the transport, automotive and infrastructure sectors.

The evenings were rounded off with an Indian cultural programme and an Indian dinner.
