An Austrian roof for the Hong Kong Airport

It was a very demanding project for the Austrian based company HOESCH Bausysteme to create the roof of one of the longest single- buildings in the world - The Hong Kong Airport. Nevertheless the innovative company accepted the challenge and helped contributing to the most important airport in Asia.

The Hong Kong International Airport, constructed in 1997, certainly is one of the busiest airports for passenger traffic and the world's busiest airport for cargo traffic. With 1,270 meters it is also one of the longest single-buildings in the world with a magnificent roof. The Austrian company HOESCH Bausysteme in Styria built the 20,000 sqm arched roof and applied the 15,000 sqm trapezoidal profile to support the whole structure.

HOESCH Bausysteme is based in Styria/Austria and is an expert for roof, wall and ceiling construction. In over 50 years of experience the company is keen on their solid quality and cutting-edge innovation.

HOESCH product systems have set the standards for industrial architecture for decades by combining efficient construction and superior design. Centuries-old tradition in metal and iron processing helps to produce components and systems, which are lighter and thinner than traditional solutions, and therefore need significantly less material and energy in manufacture and use.
