Austrian track-laying machines used in over 100 countries worldwide

In 1953 Plasser & Theurer developed the first hydraulic track tamping machine in the world. This was a decisive step towards the mechanisation of track construction.

Since the beginning of  Plasser & Theurer and the company's first registered patents, railway construction has changed rapidly. The Austrian company's innovations contributed significantly to the mechanisation of railway construction.

However, the challenges of the future continue to demand new solutions in the field of railway construction, maintenance vehicles, tamping machines and special machinery. Plasser & Theurer develops and supplies these globally; currently a total of 14,700 machines to 106 countries. The machinery contributes to profitability, greater efficiency, improved ergonomics and environmental sustainability and thus continues the company's success story into the future.
