High-Performance Formwork for the FIFA World Cup

Doka is one of the world's leading companies for developing, manufacturing and distributing formwork technology for use in all fields of the construction sector. The Greenpoint Stadium in Cape Town, South Africa is a landmark of construction know-how and ability.

Constructed for the FIFA World Cup in 2010 and designed to seat 68,000 spectators, this architecturally outstanding stadium is wrapped in a visually striking translucent building envelope.

The tight timetable and the large number of inclined pylons and stepped beams to be formed called for the use of high-performance formwork supplied by Doka . The overall structure height accounts for 53 metres, the height of casting sections for 3.9 metres with 72 piers used. The used systems include Climbing formwork MF240, Large-area formwork Top 50 and Load-bearing tower Staxo 100. The stadium was finished in 2009 after a project duration of 22 months.

With more than 160 sales and logistics facilities in over 70 countries, the Doka Group has a highly efficient distribution network which ensures that equipment and technical support can be provided swiftly and professionally. The Doka Group is a company of the Umdasch Group and employs more than 6,000 people worldwide.
