Bridges for Indonesia

Waagner-Biro is a world-renowned steel engineering company that designs spectacular architectural creations of steel and glass, bridges, stage equipment and special machinery.

Over 25 years ago Waagner-Biro sold its first bridges to Indonesia – a 2,730 m of truss bridges were bought by the Department of Public Works. This supply known as Austria-1 was the first of seven packages of bridges financed by Austrian Soft Loans, which would culminate in sales of 57,000 m of bridges within 10 years.

In 1996 Waagner-Biro Indonesia is established in Jakarta, the first workshop is opened and over the years Waagner-Biro Indonesia grows with Indonesia and establishes itself as a leading bridge design, manufacturing and service Company, by supplying more than 1,000 bridges across the entire Indonesian territory: from Sabang to Merauke and from the Talaud Archipelago to Pulau Rote.

Waagner-Biro designed bridges like the modular arch bridge in Banjarmasin, South Borneo, not only connect in Indonesia but all over Asia and the Middle East.

With its expertise, the company is now the second largest supplier of system bridges in the world!
