Woven plastic packaging machinery for Nigerian commodities

Starlinger & Co. GmbH started out as a small machinist shop in Vienna, Austria, in 1835 and today looks back at a long history in mechanical engineering. A pioneer in circular weaving technology, Starlinger delivered the first looms for polypropylene tape fabric to Nigeria already back in 1976.

Since then, they have become the market leader in machinery for woven plastic packaging in Nigeria as well as worldwide, and supply all the machines needed for woven plastic sack production. The strong and durable sacks are used by manufacturers and suppliers of cement, sugar, rice, salt and many other commodities. Some of the larger commodity providers have their own packaging production facilities, using Starlinger weaving and converting machinery to produce this safe and durable type of packaging for their products. Companies such as Bagco, Dangote Group, Fas Agro Ind. Co. Ltd, Mamuda Agro Sack and Diamond Supersacks Limited are among the prominent customers of Starlinger in Nigeria. With a presence of more than 2,500 machines, Starlinger leads the market of woven bag machinery in the country.

Starlinger not only dominates the Nigerian market in the woven bags sector, it is also well present with its recycling machinery. The business units Starlinger recycling technology and Starlinger viscotec supply plastics recycling lines for a wide range of applications. Starlinger PET recycling systems produce food-safe rPET and are approved for use in food applications by many brand owners and various national and international authorities.
