Bitter SPITZ drink a success in Libya

The Austrian company Spitz has established itself successfully in Libya with a special bitter soda. The drink was developed specifically for the Libyan market a few years ago, where it became an instant hit and has also become a success story in the long run.

Over time, Spitz has evolved into one of the biggest and most well-known food and drink producers in Austria. The company offers a broad range of products of the highest quality, among them fruit juices, syrups, energy drinks, spirits, and ketchup. The company manufactures all of its products at the company premises in Upper Austria, including those destined for export.

The Austrian company started exploring the Libyan market around ten years ago. As this is a country where alcohol is banned, Spitz wanted to bring a special non-alcoholic drink onto the market and so decided to develop a new soda together with a Libyan partner.

It was not long before the drink was known by the name ‘Bitter Nemsawi’ (bitter soda from Austria) and was being served at nearly every ministerial visit and state banquet. Besides the bitter soda described above, Spitz also has many different varieties of fruit juices on the market, but it was only with the special soda that the company became really well known in Libya. The company has demonstrated how you can succeed in a niche market with a completely new product.
