Bakery innovation creates a local success

With courage and foresight Hans and Emmi Naglreiter founded their company in 1989 in Neusiedl am See in Austria with an innovative concept. Offering a combination of traditional regional food sourcing, bakery and a gastronomic experience was a niche market. The Naglreiters were determined to develop something different that would create a new model company.  

They source their raw materials exclusively from local suppliers, shortening the distances they have to travel, and thus protecting the environment. They have attracted business from many retailers, catering operations and other large customers.

Naglreiter currently employs around 130 people and operates 12 branches. Early recognition for this pioneering business concept was given by receiving the "Marktkieker Award 2002" for outstanding marketing, in Cologne.

Naglreiter has been active in the Slovakian market since 2005. This family firm started out with deliveries to fine dining establishments in the Bratislava region. Following success here, the company began to supply retail chains with their traditional Austrian baked goods and pastries.

After two years of watching how Slovakian people responded to their products, Naglreiter decided to open a typical Austrian bakery shop in Slovakia. The company currently operates five shops in Bratislava, and is recognized by the city’s inhabitants as THE quality baker.

This is a small, but powerful, local success story – convincing Slovakians of the quality of top class Austrian bakery products. The Naglreiter family cites determination, endurance, knowledge of the market and respect for the Slovakian people and their culture, as the reasons for their success in the Slovakian market.
