Bana Big Ropeway – Breaking world records

Doppelmayr/Garaventa is the world market leader of cable cars and a reliable partner for the realisation of innovative transportation solutions. These ultra-modern facilities combine comfort, safety and quality in order to achieve the best possible performance.

With the construction of the Bana Big Ropeway in Vietnam, Doppelmayr/Garaventa achieved two entries into The Guinness Book of Records. The cable car was opened in the Bà Nà Hills Mountain Resort in April 2013. It is not only the world’s longest cable car, but it also has the highest difference in altitude. With a length of 5,801 metres between boarding and arrival, it rises 1,369 metres in vertical height.

This cable car created a new tourist attraction at the Mountain Resort, which is located close to the large city of Đà Nẵng. Within 17 minutes, visitors can reach many hotels on the top of the mountain. Ten people comfortably fit into each of the gondolas, whose entrances are flush with the ground to ensure further convenience.

Bana Big Ropeway is already the third cable car that has been constructed by Doppelmayr/ Garaventa in this region and definitely not the last record-breaking one. Customer confidence is the company’s main motivating factor to create outstanding performance and extraordinary experiences.
