Bloomberg Ranking: Austria comes 8th in the "50 Most Innovative Countries"
Every year Bloomberg looks at more than 200 countries to determine their innovation quotient. The latest ranking of the “50 Most Innovative Countries” puts Austria in an impressive 8th place, 2 places higher than last year’s index.
The USA heads the Top 10, followed by South Korea, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Japan, Singapore, Austria, Denmark and France. Great Britain took 18th place, with Switzerland 21st and China 29th.
Innovation was measured by seven factors: R&D intensity, productivity, high-tech density, researcher concentration, manufacturing capability, education levels and patent activity.
