Automation experts KEBA are branching out in China

The Austrian company is expanding its market presence in China with a fifth branch office. KEBA has been operating in China for 15 years and employs more than 700 local staff.

Founded in 1968, KEBA is now an international success story, with the Austrian company working continuously to develop new innovations and industry solutions for the factory, banking and service industry automation sectors as well as for energy automation. KEBA has facilities throughout the world and recently recorded an annual turnover of some EUR 190 million.

In China, KEBA has been enjoying success for its innovative factory automation machinery and robot control solutions for some 13 years now, and it is further expanding its presence there with a new location in Jinan – complementing its existing facilities in Ningbo, Guangzhou and Shanghai. The new branch will work with the company’s Austrian headquarters to develop bespoke client applications, bring new factories online and provide support.

China’s robotics market joins machinery manufacturing as an area of increasing interest to KEBA. Alongside the USA, Germany and Japan, China is in the next few years predicted to be the world’s strongest-growing robotics market.

KEBA has also enjoyed more than 15 years of success in the Chinese bank automation sector, carving out a niche for itself in self-service ATMs. The company has further expanded its presence on the Chinese banking market with the  CBPM–KEBA joint venture, which was launched in 2007; CBPM (China Banknote Printing and Minting corporation) is a subsidiary of the Bank of China, and CBPM–KEBA has since established itself as China’s leading provider of cash-in and cash cycle solutions.
