MM PACKAGING ACQUIRES FOLDING CARTON PLANT IN JORDAN 

 In line with strategy, Mayr-Melnhof continues expansion in the region of North Africa / Middle East and acquired a 53 % shareholding in the leading Jordan folding carton producer Al-Ekbal Printing & Packaging Co, located in Amman.

Mayr-Melnhof thereby targets on strengthening its position in the Arabic region and to grow further in the plant’s main sales areas of cigarette and detergent packaging.

Al-Ekbal currently employs approximately 160 people and converts more than 4,000 tons of cartonboard per annum in offset printing.
