2015 export award winners: Expat Award for Erich Erber, Erber Group

18. August 2015

Since 1994 the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy have been presenting Export Awards to Austrian companies for their exceptional success on international markets. This year the special "Expat Award" went to Erich Erber, Erber Group.

When, in 1983, Erich Erber started to produce feed additives and premixes in Pottingbrunn, he could not have known the success story he had embarked on. The natural, healthy animal feed from Biomin was soon not only in more and more feed troughs, but also on the industry's lips. Less than a decade later saw the opening of the first foreign branch office in Malaysia, followed by successful exports to the USA. But Asia proved particularly important: Singapore, where Erber has lived since 1994, and Thailand were additional target markets for Biomin.

The Erber Group today consists of five divisions: Biomin, Biomin Animal Nutrition, Romer, Sanphar and Future Business, with over 50 subsidiaries worldwide. One key success factor is the company's own research centre in Austria. In 2014 around 1,400 employees generated revenue in excess of EUR 230m.

The "Expat Award" recognises deserving Austrian expats who have made an exceptional contribution to Austria's export industry. The prize is awarded directly by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA.
