The share of renewable energy in Austria’s current energy consumption amounts to 23,3%, the fourth highest figure in the European Union.
Austria also leads the world in the number of energy efficient buildings per capita. Little wonder then that Japan is looking with interest at Austria at a time when the country is rethinking its energy policy.
Austrian companies presented their eco-friendly building technologies at ecobuild and in a workshop at UIA The World Congress of Architecture in Tokyo . Renewable energy and smart grid technology is at the centre of a fact finding mission of Austrian experts to Tokyo and Osaka.
