2009 we celebrate the 140 th anniversary of the admission of diplomatic relations between Austria and Japan . At their summit in April 2006 in Tokyo then Prime Minister Koizumi and the Austria ’s Federal Chancellor Dr. Schüssel agreed to accomplish numerous cultural and economical events for the year 2009 in both countries.
We aim for the development of the good and friendly relations between Japan and Austria and the increase of mutual trade.

Jan.-Mar. 2009 | Austria Snow Paradise | A number of ski resorts in Japan participate in the Austria Snow Paradise campaign. Events differ with location but include testing of newly invented skies, Alpine beer garden, ski training with Austrian instructors etc. January to March 2009. |
Feb.-Dec. 2009 | "Austrian Wine by the „Riedel Glass” campaign" | Austrian wine presented in Riedel Glasses. This campaign invites you to taste Austrian wine in participating restaurants and shops. Participating restaurants are still welcome for registration. |
