Official Working Visit of the Austrian Federal President to Addis Ababa  February 20 to 22, 2008

The Austrian Federal President, Dr. Heinz Fischer will be on an official working visit in Addis Ababa from February 20 to 22, 2008, and will then continue to the Republic of Mali. He will be accompanied by a large official delegation as well as a business delegation led by Dr. Richard Schenz, the Vice-President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber.

The Austrian Federal President, Dr. Heinz Fischer, will be on an official working visit to Addis Ababa from February 20 to 22, 2008. It is the first leg of a journey that takes him also to Bamako, Republic of Mali. The Austrian President will be accompanied by a high-ranking official delegation including the Austrian State Secretary for Finance, Dr. Christoph Matznetter, the State Secretary for Economics and Labour, Mrs. Christine Marek, and the State Secretary for European and International Affairs, Dr. Hans Winkler. In addition, a business delegation led by Dr. Richard Schenz, the Vice-President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, will also take part.

In the context of this Austrian business delegation to Addis Ababa, a business forum will be organzied on February 21, 2008 together with the Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce. It will take place at Sheraton Hotel starting at 9:00 hrs a.m. Interested Ethiopian companies will be able to meet Austrian companies from sectors like agricultural technology and forestry, energy and natural resources, timber industry, chemicals and pharmaceuticals industry, construction, and infrastructure.

Austrian companies also take part in the Austrian catalogue exhibition at the 12th Addis Ababa International Trade Fair from February 21 to 27, 2008. The opening ceremony will take place on February 21 at 2:00 hrs p.m. and will be attended by the Austrian delegation.
