Sludge Treatment Plant in Vilnius

WTE Wassertechnik , the doughter company of Austrian company EVN AG, a leading Austrian provider of energy, services and infrastructure solutions, won the tender for the construction of the sludge treatment plant in the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. The company will construct one of Europe ’s most advanced sludge treatment plants for a total investment of more than 200 Million Litas (approx. 58 million EUR).

By the first installation in the Baltic countries of a sludge treatment plant including thermal hydrolysis and low temperature drying, WTE Wassertechnik GmbH underlines its outstanding position in the Baltic region. Beside the new contract in Vilnius WTE is working at the moment on four other wastewater treatment projects in Lithuania.

WTE Wassertechnik GmbH provides water-management and environmental engineering services at national and international level. The water-supply and wastewater-disposal services provided to municipalities and industry range from the planning, financing and construction as far as management of the plants and the associated supply and disposal networks. These can range from small purification systems for a few thousand inhabitants to large-capacity treatment plants.

WTE has demonstrated international experience and success in the field of designing and building WWTPs of all sizes including the construction of plants in Zagreb, Vienna and Moscow. At the moment WTE is building plants in Warsaw, Kohtla-Järve, Moscow as well as in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul .
