Lithuania decides for GSM-R by Frequentis

Austrian company “Frequentis ”, the industry leader in GSM-R Fixed Terminal Systems, delivers to Lithuanian national railways . Till end of 2010 the Lithuanian railway network is to be changed over to the new European railway standard.

Frequentis has been selected to supply the fixed dispatcher network for the Lithuanian GSM-R
project. Lithuania is the first Baltic state to start with the nation-wide GSM-R implementation. Nortel and its local partner Belam have been entrusted with the partially EU funded GSM-R project worth EUR 50,5 million. Until 2010 major parts of the railway network will be fully compatible to international railway standards.

Frequentis Public Transport is leading in the field of GSM-R technology with a track record of more than 4.000 dispatcher terminals for Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Norway and the UK.
