The exports of food products, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco products has increased by 28.4 percent, according to the Latvian Statistics Office.
Except for wodka, which was mainly delivered to North America , the EU countries were the most important destination of Latvian exports.
The import of food products, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and tobacco products increased by 34.9 percent. 87.8 percent of agricultural and food products were imported from EU countries.
Austria was among the most important suppliers of non-alcoholic beverages (12% of all imports), also the Austrian deliveries of wine increased by more than 50%. The third group of products with considerable imports from Austria were chocolates.
