The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has increased its current economic growth projections for Austria from 3.2% (May forecast) to 3.3%.

In their "World Economic Outlook" , however, the Paris-based organisation predicted a slightly more modest increase in 2008 GDP than previously forecast. The Autumn Forecast predicts a 2008 gross domestic product (GDP) increase of 2.5% - in the Spring Forecast this was still at 2.6%. Nevertheless, a further 2.5% GDP increase was forecast for 2009, meaning that Austria's performance remains strong in international comparisons.
