40% Growth for Frisch & Frost

Appel strudel with pine nuts to Dubai and french fries for McDonald's - two of 250 products by the Lower Austrian company.

The Lower Austrian specialists in potato and strudel dishes, Frisch & Frost , find themselves rapidly expanding after restructuring 5 years ago.  In just the last two-and-a-half years the company has grown by almost 40%.  Turnover last year was EUR 59.4 million.  This year, Frisch & Frost will also aim for double digit increases.

The export quota is at 40% of turnover and 49% of sales - the most important market being Germany.  Particularly stong export growth was to Italy (112%) and Switzerland (75%).  Increasing demand from neighbouring CEE countries for Frisch & Frost products is also pleasing.  Last year, apple strudel with pine nuts and honey were delivered to new markets in Greece and Dubai.

The company has 250 different products and are famed for their yeast dumplings and apple strudel.  One of the most important customers is McDonald's, to whom Frisch & Frost have been delivering french fries for the last 25 years.  260 employees process 104,000 tonnes of potatos a year for many other products as well, this year it should be 110,000 tonnes.
