When it comes to sausages – Hütthaler!

More than 100 years of history, the highest quality and great innovations - these are the hallmarks of Hütthaler, the Upper Austrian sausage and meat producer.

In 1897 Anton Hütthaler laid the cornerstone of today’s successful family business in Schwanenstadt (Upper Austria). Since then the art of sausage and ham production has been passed down from generation to generation.

In the last 25 years alone the company has been able to expand its headquarters on five occasions. The last eleven million Euros worth of major upgrading has recently been completed and the ambitious plans of the company continue – innovative new products and an increase in exports should raise the staffing levels from 250 to 350 and increase turnover to EUR 73 million. 2008 saw 12,000 tonnes of meat products produced – exclusively from Austrian animals.

Apart from fresh meat (making up a quarter of turnover), this well-established company distributes many different long-life sausages, fresh sausages and lighter products – such as our latest innovation “Attersee” turkey ham with 0.9% fat. Hütthaler brought the first re-sealable ham packaging on the market in 2005 and since 1990, organic meat for babies has been delivered across the world. Exports account for 19%. The largest recipients are Germany, Slovenia , Hungary , Greece and Switzerland .
