Austrian Airlines outsources maintenance to Malaysia

27. April 2008

Malaysia seeks constantly to be an outsourcing hub for foreign companies and is successfulwith its strategy. Recently Austrian Airlines outsourced  maintenance of its Boeing 777 planes to KLIA.

Many people at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport were recently surprised to see an Austrian Airlines plane land here after a year's break. It was not the resumption of direct flights between Vienna and Kuala Lumpur but the good reputation of the airport and of Malaysian Airlines for technical services, that made Austrian Airlines fly to Sepang.

Aircrafts need constantly to be serviced with highest quality to ensure absolute safety and high comfort for the airlines' passengers. Austrian Airlines has a long standing reputation for highest standards. To keep up with these standards but also to seek for more cost efficiency Austrian Airlines often outsources its major service works. Having heard of Malaysian Airlines good craftmanship, Austrian Airlines decided to let its Boeing 777 be overhauled in Malaysia. To the last detail the aircrafts are being technically checked and serviced and leave as nearly new. The cooperation is a full success and Austrian Trade hopes to visit more Austrian Airlines planes at KLIA's big and modern hangars more often.
