A small cube with a big interior makes dream living possible in the tiniest of spaces. The smallest house in the world is being built in Upper Austria.

How do a small plot and a large house go together? With a compact dream home from the Upper Austrian company Gatterbauer Micro Compact Home Production from Uttendorf. The micro compact [m-ch] home is a lightweight, modular, mobile compact home for one to two people.

With its compact measurements of 2.6m, the micro compact home blends in to the most varied environments. The functional areas - for sleeping, eating, working, cooking and hygiene - provide everything needed for everyday use. The micro compact home was inspire by airline and automotive design. The innovative home cubes were designed by London architect Richard Horden and the Lydia Haack & John Höpfner architect office.
