Austrian Trade Mission in Norway and Iceland

6. March 2008

The Austrian Trade Office in Oslo was organising the Austrian Trade Mission in Norway and Iceland from 6 to 11 March 2008.

The delegation included representatives of nine Austrian companies. All representatives had promising meetings with their counterparts in Norway . Subsequently five of the Austrian representatives journeyed on to Iceland .
The main focus of the Austrian Trade Mission was to build up business relations and to foster existing co-operations. Beside this, our Trade Office provided for a lively supporting programme. We organised a networking event in our office premises in Oscars gate. In doing so the Austrian representatives could continue the business talks in a more informal atmosphere, meet Norwegian opinion leaders and talk to experts on the Norwegian Market. The next day the delegation was invited to the Ski jumping event in Lillehammer which is a part of the Nordic Challenge Tournament. Guided by Siri Jordfald from the Norwegian Skiing Association the participants spent a fantastic evening in Lillehammer , topped off by the Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer winning the competition.

After the event, the Austrian companies are looking forward to place emphasis on the Norwegian market. As you can learn from our news section, for Christoph Wörndl and the Wingliner International company the participation at the Austrian Trade Mission directly resulted in acquiring an agent on the Norwegian market.
