Three "European Beer Star Awards“ go to Austrian Beers

This year the best beers in the world were awarded the "European Beer Star Award 2007" at the BRAU Beviale in Nuremberg. Austrian beer specialities won prizes in three categories.

Bronze in the category German Light (beer) went to "Kristall Leicht" from the Stiftsbrauerei Schlägl (German only) . Silver in the category "European Style Export" was awarded to "Raschhofer Märzen" from the Brauerei Raschhofer (German only) and silver in the category "Specialty Honey Beer" went to the "Hochland-Bio-Honigbier" from the Brauerei Hofstetten Krammer (German only) . The"European Beer Star Award" was awarded by the Association of private breweries (Verband Private Brauereien - German only) and the„Association of small and independent Breweries in Europe“ in 40 different beer categories - from German 'cellar beer' to Bohemian Pilsner to English Ale. There was a total of 575 beer specialities from 28 countries represented at the event.
