VARIOTHERM’s Underfloor Heating and Cooling System
gains foothold in New Zealand

13 February 2015

The New Zealand company Central Heating was faced with the challenge of finding the right heating system for the project “Kidsfirst Early Learning Centre” in Diamond Harbour on the South Island. The open spaces of the education facility had to be evenly heated for maximum comfort for the children, at the same time the new heating system had to guarantee energy efficiency. After all, healthy heating with low energy requirements is one of the pillars of sustainable building.

Their system of choice was VarioComp, a compact floor heating system. The Austrian innovator of this system, Variotherm, has tested the VarioComp system for comfort, efficiency and longevity during Northern Europe’s bitterly cold winters, a good measuring stick for determining a heating product’s value in New Zealand. In addition, VarioComp energy consumption is 25 % less compared to other systems and is very easy to install thanks to the panel thickness of only 20 mm.

In 2011 Variotherm obtained The Austrian Leading Companies Award and established itself since then as an important supplier in their home country and Europe. VARIOTHERM has also developed a unique dual use system especially suitable for the Australian market. Their ModuleCeiling heating system can be built into ceilings or walls, where circulating water cools or heats the building at very low cost.
