Pessl Instruments creates joint venture “Metos ANZ” with Australian firm Field Systems to promote Agriculture 4.0 in Australia and New Zealand

Pessl Instruments, founded by Gottfried Pessl, is headquartered in Austria and has been active in Australia for the last 20 years. Pessl Instruments is a leader in developing agricultural support systems and sustainable irrigation management, as well as integrated solutions for water and insect management. 

Together with Field Systems, a soil advisory company specialising in soil management strategies to improve soil and crop performance, Pessl Instruments created joint venture Metos ANZ. The objective of the new company is to promote Agriculture 4.0 in the areas of seeding, planting, plant protection, fertilisation, harvest down the entire value chain and to the fully automated, traceable farm operations. The joint venture focus is on assisting farmers in Australia and New Zealand to adapt and adopt the latest agricultural technologies to mitigate risk in the farming business. 

Pessl Instruments products, which are globally distributed under the ́METOS® ́ brand, include weather stations, soil moisture monitoring devices, irrigation automation controllers, electronic insect traps, remote crop monitoring systems, disease and pest warning software and localised weather forecasts.

Gottfried Pessl has daughter companies in USA, Brazil, Ukraine, France, Spain, Turkey, South Africa, Portugal and does business in more than 80 countries.
