Bringing together Austrian and New Zealand biotechnology companies at the Australian biotechnology sector's flagship conference and exhibition.

Austria's biotechnology sector continues to boom with its unique configuration of larger companies, such as Boehringer Ingelheim and Novartis, and over 100 small and medium-sized companies. This competitive combination has proven to drive constant innovation and firmly establish a name for Austria in the world of biotechnology. The majority of these small/medium-sized companies are in the life science industry and — according to Austrian Biotech Industry —  will produce over a third of all innovations in the future.

The solid growth in the biotech industry has furthermore been underpinned by Austria's top quality research centres, universities and laboratories. More impressively, the output of Austrian scientific publications has increased by 70% in the past year.

The Austrian Consulate General/Commercial Section in Sydney will endeavour to bring over an Austrian delegation of biotechnology companies to participate in the AusBiotech Conference 2007, which will be held in Brisbane, Australia this October. This will be the ideal opportunity for Austrian and New Zealand biotechnology professionals to network and share their expertise. Please do not hesitate to if you wish to receive more information about the Austrian biotechnology industry and/or our participation at AusBiotech 2007.

Austrian companies that were present at the AusBiotech conferences of 2005 and 2006 include:
