"Austrian Lotteries" warns against being tricked by email scam.

Dubious emails claiming to be from the state-owned organisation “Austrian Lotteries” have recently been in circulation, informing recipients that they have won 1 million Euro (approx. 1.74 million New Zealand dollars) in prize money.

The sender of these emails is a Mr Stevens G. Herbert, who purports to work for “Austrian Lotteries” from a London-based office. However, the emails also mention the organisation's real address located at Rennweg 44, 1038 Vienna, Austria.

“Austrian Lotteries” has already stated that these emails have nothing to do with their organisation and that their address has subsequently been misused. The company has already taken legal action against these dubious activities and urges the public not to respond to these emails, not to disclose any banking details under any circumstances, and not to transfer any money.
