Inauguration of new ams chip testing facility in the Philippines

8. July 2015

New factory in Calamba City Special Economic Zone ensuring ams can meet highest quality standards while satisfying growing demand

When ams, one of the biggest Austrian companies in the electronics sector, first set up their testing facility for analog ICs in the Philippines in 2005, no one imagined what a success this business venture would turn out to be.

In July 2015, almost ten years later, management and guests, amongst them the Austrian ambassador to the Philippines Dr. Josef Müllner and Commercial Counselor Lisa Koscak, gathered at Calamba City Special Economic Zone for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the latest extension to the testing facilities.

Only two years ago, ams invested 17 mio. euros in a new state of the art facility, which increased ams Asia Inc.’s production capacity by 50%. Having to go through another facility extension so soon, which yet again means a 130% increase in size, proves how well ams is performing in the Philippines.

As a global leader in analog ICs and sensor solutions, ams values the skill and dedication of their Philippine workforce, currently employing 500 people in their Calamba facilities. Following the extension, generating new office and production floor space, ams will continue to meet rising demand and serve as dedicated Quality and failure analysis competence center for Asia.
