11. March 2013

ams AG, a leading worldwide designer and manufacturer of high performance analog Integrated Circuits and sensor solutions, held the official opening ceremony of its new chip testing facility in Calamba City, Philippines last 11 March 2013.

ams AG inaugurated its new chip testing facility in Carmelray Industrial Park (CIP) II, Calamba, Laguna last 11th of March 2013. All in-house final testing activities of ams, which are important steps in analog IC manufacturing, are done in the ams Asia Inc. facility in the Philippines. The new facility, which is located in a 28,000 square meter lot, replaces an older facility also in CIP II, which was too small to handle the growing global demand for the high-performance sensors, sensor interfaces, RF ICs and power management devices that ams manufactures. The expansion will increase ams Asia Inc.’s production capacity by 50% to support the continuing growth of ams’ business.

Mr. John Heugle, CEO of ams AG (3rd from right), led the ribbon-cutting ceremony along with Deputy Director General Mary Harriet Abordo of PEZA, Ambassador Wilhelm Donko of the Austrian Embassy, Managing Director Marvin Cruz and General Manager Jose Mariano of ams Asia Inc., and Director for Back-end Operations Wolfgang Peisser of ams AG. Commercial Attaché Isabel Schmiedbauer of Austrian Embassy-Commercial Section along with other partners and guests of ams Asia Inc. witnessed the event.
