Austrian Exports to Saudi up
Exports 1-9/2009 increase by 7,5%
Despite the global economic downturn exports from Austria to Saudi Arabia increased by 7,5% over the first 9 month of 2009 compared to 2008. Saudi Arabia is next to China the only Austrian major export market not suffering from the worldwide crisis. While 2009 exports to other GCC countries dropped by 25% and more, the stable economy in Saudi Arabia allowed keeping imports from Austria on the rise to a total of over 362 Million Euro compared to 337 Million in the first three quarters of 2009.
Especially the increase in exports of pharmaceutical products, vehicles, iron & steel and products thereof had a major part in the positve result.
