Forum raising awareness of the market potential of Belarus

10. May 2016

A top-level event focussing on Belarus is to be held in Vienna on 24 May 2016, with representatives of EU institutions and companies across Europe expected to attend.

The lifting of EU sanctions against Belarus in spring 2016 is intended to help stabilise the country’s economy and provide a boost to growth. Ultimately, political normalisation is also expected to bring new momentum to economic relations between EU member states and Belarus.

In the light of these new developments, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA is joining EUROCHAMBRES/East Invest and Belarus in organising the Vienna Forum: Promoting EU-Investments in Belarus, to be held in Austria’s federal capital on 24 May 2016. Participants are expected to include representatives of EU institutions and companies from the EU with an interest in doing business with Belarus.

The event will see Belarus present itself as a promising economic location for investment and an exciting business partner. The programme includes lectures and discussion panels, and numerous opportunities for networking and b2b meetings with participating firms and governmental representatives from Belarus; these discussions will be organised on an ad hoc basis.

Forum visitors will find out more about the market, investment climate, grants and local conditions, with detailed information available concerning the most dynamic sectors of the Belarus economy, such as its banking, ICT and sustainable construction industries.
