Teambuilding in the sign of design, lunch and wine

Traditional Swedish design meets Austrian wine

On the 8th of November the Team of Advantage Austria in Sweden spent a very delightful day in Stockholm under the banner of design, food and wine. The day started at 9 o’clock at the Svenskt Tenn boutique at Strandvägen, where we enjoyed some tea and a very interesting presentation from  intendant Per Ahldén about the famous Swedish design brand. We learned about their connection to Austria, especially because of Josef Frank, when we were guided through the show rooms of the boutique. After the tour we paid the Austrian jeweller Gaudy a quick visit next door, before heading for lunch to Ulla Windbladh at Djurgården.

With our stomachs filled, we prepared for a special Austrian wine tasting back at the office. Our wine guide was Herbert Gaugl, an Austrian who has been living in Sweden for many years and worked at some of the finest restaurants as a headwaiter. Herbert led us with his expertise and we learned how to taste wine properly. All in all we tasted eight different Austrian wines, four of them red, three of them white and as a dessert wine a “Trockenbeerenauslese” (sweet wine). It was a very nice and informative day for all of us, we appreciate all the new input we received on that day and think that it strengthened the bond between the staff members.
